Tiny: Yea, Eldridge. It was her privilege not to speak.

Eldridge: I get tired of these jive-time, stuck-up broads, man. So, I ain’t Rockefeller. So what? That don’t mean I gotta be so much dirt under her feet. I make a simple greeting an’ she act like I offended her by speaking. I hate that, man.

Lucky: Man, ugly as you look, if I was a broad I’d be offended if you spoke to me.

(Tiny and Lucky break into laughter, as Eldridge glares at them, trying to think of a counter-insult.)

Eldridge: Least I had the heart to speak to her. Least I had that much pride in myself.
